Police identify elderly couple in murder-suicide investigation

MEHLVILLE, Mo. – Detectives have identified a couple found dead late Sunday morning in a suspected murder-suicide.
According to Mary Schmitt, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis County Police Department, officers responded to a call for a shooting at a home in the 100 block of Chinon Drive in Mehlville shortly after 11:30 a.m.
Officers entered the home and found Nicki and Larry Ketterling dead from gunshot wounds. Both were 77.
Investigators with the county’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons believe Larry shot Nicki before turning the gun on himself.
The investigation is still ongoing.
