Part of the Sumy district has been left without power supply on the evening of 8 October due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.

On the night of 7-8 October, two power engineers were injured after Russian forces attacked a thermal power plant belonging to DTEK, the largest private energy company in Ukraine.
On 8 October, Russian forces conducted two attacks against DTEK, hitting a plant in Donetsk Oblast where coal for thermal power stations is enriched.
