ST. LOUIS – Two men remain jailed for allegedly breaking into a vacant hotel in downtown St. Louis to steal wiring and piping.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the break-in happened on Sunday, Aug.18, at the Millennium Hotel on South Fourth Street.

Officers responded to a reported burglary in progress and found backpacks, burglary tools, a cutting saw, large spools of wire, and several places where copper and brass pipe had been cut and removed.

Daniel J. Boyer, 41, and Bradford L. Corbett, 52, were arrested inside the hotel, police said.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged both Boyer and Corbett with second-degree burglary and stealing – $750 or more. They’ll remain jailed until their first hearing on Tuesday, Aug. 26. They have preliminary hearings scheduled for Sept. 17.
