Pacific issues boil water advisory after water main break

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. - A Precautionary Water Boil Advisory has been issued Tuesday morning after a water main break in Pacific.

According to the Pacific Emergency Management Agency, the advisory was issued after a 'major water main break' on Jefferson Street near Graphic Packaging International.

The advisory has been issued for all City of Pacific water service customers until further notice. Residents and businesses in the area can expect low water pressure.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to follow the boil order instructions until further notice, as crews work to resolve the issue. This includes bringing drinking and cooking water to a boil for three minutes. The water is OK for bathing, washing, and other non-consumable uses.

This is a developing story; FOX 2 will provide additional information once it comes into the newsroom.
