Occupation authorities claim several bridges on motorway to Crimea were struck

The Russian-installed occupation authorities in Kherson Oblast have claimed that several bridges on the route to occupied Crimea near Armiansk were struck on the night of 10-11 June.

Details: Saldo claimed that on the night of 10-11 June, the Ukrainian military attacked bridges spanning the North Crimean Canal near the settlements of Preobrazhenka and Myrne, a road bridge on the Perekop-Armiansk route, and another bridge near the village of Stavky.

Quote: "Early reports indicate that there is damage. Specialists are conducting inspections and assessing the condition of the structures."

Details: Saldo later posted a map showing two alternative routes to Armiansk from the so-called Novorossiya highway.

Background:

  • On 9 June, Saldo claimed that a bridge near Chonhar had again been damaged in what he said was an overnight Ukrainian drone attack.
  • The Chonhar bridge is one of only two road routes linking mainland Ukraine with the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula.
  • Satellite imagery of the bridge shows black scorch marks consistent with previous strikes.
