New county park to open in Fallbrook with skatepark, dog park and more
FALLBROOK, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A much-anticipated recreational hub will soon open in the heart of Fallbrook. On Wednesday, Sept. 3, San Diego County officials will host a grand opening celebration for Village View County Park—a 6.8-acre space packed with family-friendly features and a one-of-a-kind skatepark.
Located just west of the Fallbrook Community Center at 831 East Fallbrook St., the park boasts adventure play zones, picnic areas, two dog parks (separated for large and small dogs), a multipurpose field, an all-wheel skatepark, and ADA-accessible paths and restrooms. Set against the scenic backdrop of the San Luis Rey River Valley, the park is designed to be both accessible and inclusive for all ages and abilities, according to city officials.
One of the standout features is the all-wheel skatepark, which includes a unique avocado-shaped bowl—a nod to Fallbrook’s agricultural roots—as well as quarter pipes, rails, wedge ramps, stairs, and more. The skate area is open to all wheels, including skateboards, scooters, and BMX bikes.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, scheduled for 10 a.m., will be attended by several community leaders, including San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, Parks and Recreation Director Jason Hemmens, Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians Councilwoman Laurie Gonzalez, and other local committee members and skatepark advocates.
The celebration will include a vendor fair featuring games, giveaways, animal ambassadors, a nature discovery table, informational booths, and a Shave Ice Truck. Following the ribbon cutting, the skatepark will open for public use.
Parking at the park is limited, and guests are encouraged to carpool or use the overflow shuttle service running from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. from SonRise Christian Fellowship at 463 S. Stagecoach Ln.
The event is free, family-friendly, and ADA accessible.
