SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The Westfield UTC shopping mall in University City is preparing to welcome new additions to its directory of retail shops and dining options.

Although there are plenty of other places to satisfy one's craving for Asian food at Westfield UTC, the shopping center will officially add a Korean barbecue destination into the mix.

Gen Korean BBQ is expected to open sometime by early September. The restaurant, which already has a San Diego location in Mira Mesa plus multiple others across California, offers guests the experience of grilling thin cuts of marinated meat, seafood and vegetables at their own tables.

Gen Korean BBQ will be near Macy's in the space formerly held by Red Robin. It's adjacent to the recently opened The Escape Game, an escape room experience with six different themes to choose from.

Looking to satisfy a sweet tooth? Swiss chocolate manufacturer Läderach Chocolate will open in the site that once belonged to Pressed Juicery, adjacent to American Eagle.

The group manufactures its chocolate exclusively in Switzerland and has more than 100 different offerings, from pralines and truffles to seasonal treats.

Aside from new culinary destinations, shoppers also have more retailers to look forward to.

Bad Birdie, an apparel store catered to avid golfers, opens on Oct. 1. From performance polos and skorts to golf gloves and headcovers, the store will have something for all ages. Bad Birdie will be located near Sephora and Brooklinen.

Meanwhile, Gap, which was temporarily closed for renovations, is expected to reopen on Sept. 19.
