New boutique hotel set to open in Carlsbad
CARLSBAD, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- North County is set to welcome a new luxury hotel in Spring 2026 as the former Sheraton Carlsbad undergoes a major transformation into Hotel Solea.
According to a hotel spokesperson, the multi-million-dollar reimagining of the property aims to deliver a modern, design-forward experience inspired by the region’s coastal charm and natural beauty.
Once open, Hotel Solea will bring a boutique, botanical vibe to Carlsbad, attracting leisure travelers, couples and destination groups looking beyond the city’s traditional family-focused attractions.
Key features at Hotel Solea will include:
- Verise, a vibrant Italian restaurant and bar serving seasonal, locally sourced dishes
- A reimagined pool and cabana area, offering a fresh take on the classic SoCal pool scene
- 70,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space for weddings, meetings, and events
- A prime location minutes from Carlsbad Village, pristine beaches, and LEGOLAND—with access to a private park entrance
- Close proximity to world-class golf courses and the city’s famous Flower Fields
Alongside Hotel Solea, the Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa will continue to operate on the same campus, offering guests a wellness-focused coastal escape.
