Quote: "Today we are pleased to welcome NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at Kyiv's railway station. This visit is extremely important, as all previous ones have been, as it is a gesture of solidarity and the Alliance's support for our country."
Details: Ukrzaliznytsia's press service shared photos from Kyiv's railway station, where the train carrying Rutte arrived. The photos show that Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha was among those who met the NATO secretary general at the station.
The outlet notes that shortly afterwards, the post announcing Rutte's arrival was deleted from Ukrzaliznytsia's social media accounts.
Background:
- In May, Rutte stated that during the Alliance's ministerial meeting he had heard "many encouraging comments" from allies regarding assistance to Ukraine.
- On 21 May, Sybiha discussed threats from Russia and Belarus with Secretary General Mark Rutte.
