ST. LOUIS - Music artists are set to hit the stage in an effort to benefit Maryville University's Kids Rock Cancer program.

Kids Rock Cancer, a program that helps children battling cancer express their emotions through music and songwriting, partnered with The Factory in Chesterfield to host concerts.

The shows will feature a variety of performers, including John Legend, Brian Culbertson, and Samara Joy. A portion of the ticket sales from these events will be donated directly to Kids Rock Cancer.

"Through that program we offer these music therapy services specifically focusing on therapeutic songwriting," said Crystal Weaver, director of music therapy at Maryville University. "It helps children express what they’re thinking, what they’re feeling, they’re experiencing as they’re going through the cancer diagnosis."

For more information, Kids Rock Cancer has launched a website with information on upcoming shows, volunteering opportunities, and how to access their music therapy sessions.
