Mount Miguel High lockdown lifted; no weapon found, officials say
SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station responded to reports of a possible discharge of a firearm heard near Mount Miguel High School around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
According to the report, school administrators placed the campus, located in the 8000 block of Blossom Lane in Spring Valley, on lockdown immediately.
Deputies reportedly conducted a walkthrough of the campus, clearing all of the buildings and areas of the school, and found no weapon or evidence of a discharged firearm. The school lockdown was lifted shortly thereafter, and no one was hurt during the incident.
According to officials, deputies are investigating the incident as a swatting call, and there are no additional threats to the school or community.
