Motorcyclist killed, another hurt after crash near Delmar Loop

ST. LOUIS - One motorcyclist was killed in crash with a Metro Bus on Friday afternoon near the Delmar Loop. Another motorcyclist avoided a collision with a bus, but was also injured.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the crash around 11 a.m. Friday near Skinker Boulevard and Enright Avenue.

SLMPD reports, based on preliminary findings, two motorcyclists were driving next to each other northbound on Skinker. As they approached the intersection of Skiner and Enright, a Metro Bus traveling southbound on Skinker made a left-hand turn into the path of the motorcyclists.

SLMPD has identified the motorcyclist who died as 31-year-old Alvin Garvin.

Police say a 19-year-old motorcyclist was also injured when he avoided a collision with the bus, but swerved and thrown from the motorcycle moments later. Police say he is hospitalized with serious injuries.

The driver of the Metro Bus, a 61-year-old woman, and one passenger in the bus were also sent to a hospital with various injuries.
