Missouri hospitals to provide 24/7 telehealth for assault survivors

ST. LOUIS - Missouri hospitals can now offer 24/7 telehealth support for sexual assault survivors through the new SAFE V-T Network.

The Sexual Assault Forensic Exams via Telehealth Network (SAFE V-T Network) links hospital staff with certified forensic nurse examiners who are available to help, making sure that survivors get expert care right away, even if trained nurses aren't at the hospital.

The service was officially rolled out on July 1, and hospitals across Missouri have until next year to fully implement it. This initiative marks the first state mandate of its kind, aiming to provide consistent and immediate care for sexual assault survivors statewide.
