Man wanted for shooting in store when told to remove mask
ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Police say a man is wanted for allegedly shooting into a Price Chopper after he was asked to take off his face mask.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), officers were alerted to the shooting shortly after 9:40 a.m. in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood on Aug. 20.
SLMPD says an employee asked the alleged suspect to remove his mask, and when he didn't comply, the worker refused service.
This interaction caused the suspect to become irritated and leave the store, SLMPD says. But while he was leaving, the suspect allegedly fired multiple gunshots into the business and fled the scene.
No person was injured, but since the incident, no arrest has been made, as police are working to identify their person of interest.
Police say the suspect is described as a Black male, and at the time of the shooting, he was wearing a black hooded jacket, black shorts and a black ski mask.
Anyone with information regarding this shooting is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
