Man seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in St. Peters

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - A man was hospitalized Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle in St. Peters.

According to a spokesperson with the City of St. Peters, the crash happened around 6:20 a.m. on Mexico Road at Stoll Lane, west of Spencer Road, involving a Nissan Sentra.

The crash occurred as the driver of the Nissan was traveling eastbound on Mexico Road, the spokesperson said. At some point, the victim, a 35-year-old man, attempted to cross over Mexico Road and was struck by the vehicle.

The man was transported to an nearby hospital after the crash, suffering from serious and life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra remained on the scene after the crash and is cooperating with authorities, according to the spokesperson. Traffic was closed in both directions on Mexico Road for an extended period of time as authorities investigated the crash.

The St. Peters Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and continues to investigate the details of the crash.
