Man killed in overnight shooting in north St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left a man dead Thursday morning in north St. Louis County.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, authorities responded to a call around 3:30 a.m. on the 10000 block of Sheffingdell Court, near Chambers Road, in the Woodlands Apartment Complex.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. The man was later pronounced dead on the scene.

The St. Louis County Police Department initially classified the shooting as a suspicious death. Officials say authorities had received a call from someone who had driven past a person who appeared to have been shot inside of a vehicle.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing. At this point, no suspects are in custody.
