Man dies after cement truck rolls over on I-55 in Jefferson County
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. - One man died after a cement truck rolled over Saturday morning on Interstate 55 in Jefferson County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
MSHP reports that a 37-year-old man driving the cement truck died in the crash, which occurred around 8:30 a.m. Saturday on I-55, just north of Missouri Route Z.
According to an MSHP crash report, the driver traveled off the west side of the roadway and overcorrected, which caused his vehicle to overturn.
MSHP reports the victim was 37 years old and from Festus, Missouri, but did not disclose his identity. No one else was involved in the rollover crash.
Traffic was blocked near I-55 and Route Z for a stretch of time Saturday into the early afternoon.
