Man charged with sex crime met underage victim on dating app: Police
CLAYTON, Mo. – A Florissant, Missouri, man is facing a sex crime charge after he met an underage victim on a dating app and arranged to meet the teen in person.
According to the Hazelwood Police Department's probable cause statement, the incident took place on June 5 at White Birch Park.
Police learned the 15-year-old victim met Davion Thompson (age not provided) on a dating app.
The victim's guardian told police Thompson came to their house to meet the victim. The guardian went outside, confronted Thompson, and told him the victim was 15.
Police said Thompson pretended to leave but came back to the home. The victim left her home and went with Thompson to White Birch Park.
While at the park, police said the victim told Thompson she was 15. Thompson allegedly told the victim he did not care and forced her to perform a sex act on him.
At the time of this incident, Thompson was out on bond pending trial for a separate child sex crime involving a victim less than 14 years of age, police said.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Thompson with second-degree statutory sodomy. Thompson remains jailed on a $300,000 cash-only bond. He has a bond reduction hearing scheduled for Sept. 4, with a preliminary hearing slated for Sept. 30.
