Man charged for fatally stabbing sister in Bellefontaine Neighbors

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorneys have charged a 22-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his sister to death in Bellefontaine Neighbors.

Craig Jones, of Bellefontaine Neighbors, was charged with first-degree murder, as well as armed criminal action in connection to the fatal stabbing of Taylar Hill, 26.

According to a probable cause statement, the incident occurred in the 1200 block of Bliss Drive on Sept. 23, in which Jones allegedly “struck (Hill) with a blunt object several times and then retrieved a knife.” Prosecutors say Hill was stabbed multiple times.

Officers from the Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department arrived at the scene around 8 p.m., and they located Hill, who had sustained life-threatening injuries. First responders transported Hill to a nearby hospital, but she passed away from her injuries.

At the time of the stabbing, the probable cause statement says Jones fled the area, but was eventually caught by law enforcement.

During his interrogation, the probable cause statement says that “the defendant (Jones) confessed to police that he murdered his sister” and “had been planning on killing someone for approximately a week.”

The 22-year-old remains in custody without bond. Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are investigating the homicide.
