Man arrested in deadly shooting inside downtown San Diego bar

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A man was shot and killed after a fight broke out inside a downtown San Diego rooftop bar Sunday evening, and one person is in custody after being detained by bystanders.

San Diego Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at 5:18 p.m. at Cielo Rooftop Lounge at 701 Sixth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found one person suffering from gunshot wounds in a third-floor hallway inside the bar. The 46-year-old man died at the scene despite lifesaving measures from officers and paramedics. He has not yet been identified.

San Diego Police reports 37-year-old Bryan Tyner was taken into custody following the shooting. Officers found Tyner on the sidewalk in front of the bar being detained by several bystanders. He faces a murder charge and will be booked in the County Jail.

Officers were still processing the scene and interviewing witnesses Sunday night.
