Details: Electricity supplies have been disrupted for some consumers in Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy and Cherkasy oblasts and the city of Kyiv.

"Emergency repair works have already begun wherever security conditions currently allow," Ukrenergo said.

Ukrenergo has urged consumers to shift active electricity consumption to the period between 11:00 and 15:00, when industrial solar power plants operate at peak efficiency.

In the evening, between 18:00 and 22:00, consumers are asked not to switch on several high-powered appliances simultaneously.

Background:

  • DTEK, the largest private energy company in Ukraine, has restored power to 110,000 households in Kyiv following a large-scale Russian attack that damaged the company's production facility and energy infrastructure.
  • On the night of 1-2 June, Russia conducted a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine using drones and air, sea and land-launched missiles of various types. Ukrainian air defences downed 642 aerial assets out of 729 launched.
