Kids are free at SeaWorld San Diego during Halloween events
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- SeaWorld San Diego is gearing up for its Halloween events. Kids 9 and under are free, plus annual passes are on sale, SeaWorld announced this week.
The theme park hosts two Halloween events -- the family-friendly Spooktacular, complete with a trick-or-treat trail, a DJ, pumpkin patch and more, and Howl-O-Scream once the sun goes down, featuring haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment and more.
Through October 31, kids ages 3 to 9 are free with a paid adult at SeaWorld San Diego. The theme park is also offering a BOGO deal; if you buy an annual pass, you can Buy One, Get One (BOGO) 50% off.
Spooktacular
The park’s family-friendly Halloween event, Spooktacular, runs on weekends through Sunday, November 2, with pirates and mermaids, spooky surprises, trick-or-treating, a waterfront DJ and other live entertainment, a pumpkin patch, and much more.
New this year -- Spookley the Square Pumpkin and Jack Scarecrow will host interactive story times, dance parties, and a meet-and-greet, while the Bone Brothers Talking Skull Quartet, Heckling Pirate Talking Skulls, and Spooktacular DJ keep the party going.

Returning favorites to Spooktacular include the Waterfront Pumpkin Patch, meet-and-greet with Magical Mermaids, the Scurvy Squad Pirate Shanty Band performing sea shanties and pirate antics, talking skeletons Captain Sweet Tooth and First Mate Peggy telling tales of haunted treasure hunts and candy quests, while the Royal Guard Talking Skulls greet the guests with a "touch of royal humor."
Kids can take part in the Halloween costume party part of O.P. Otter’s Spooktacular Surprise at the Mission Bay Theater.

Plus, don't miss the Trick-or-Treat Trail that has 10 candy stations that will be open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays and from 1 p.m. to 7p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Spooktacular is included with park admission. Learn more at seaworld.com.

Howl-O-Scream
Haunted houses, scare zones, speakeasies and more will be on hand at SeaWorld San Diego's adult-themed Halloween event.
Howl-O-Scream runs on select nights from Sept. 12 to Nov. 1.

The Halloween event will feature two reimagined haunted houses, the Nightmare Experiment Sweet DreamzZz and Deathwater Bayou Awakening, joined by three fan-favorite haunted houses, Circus of the Damned, Simon’s Slaughterhouse and Area 64: Alien Outbreak.
There will also be eight scare zones and four vile vignettes with "disturbing stories that bite back," along with six themed bars.

Plus, the Monster Stomp on Ripper Row live show will blend percussion, eerie vocals and haunting visuals into a gothic rock show set in the streets of Victorian London.

Howl-O-Scream requires a separate ticket. For a limited time, you can purchase tickets for up to 65% off at seaworld.com/san-diego/events/howl-o-scream.

Dia de los Muertos
The park will also be recognizing Dia de los Muertos on November 1 and 2 with Catrina statues that will welcome the guests, while Marigolds, candles, and papel picado fill the air, along with traditional Latin music and festive food options.
