Kansas City men sentenced for St. Louis County carjacking

ST. LOUIS – Two Kansas City men appeared in federal court to be sentenced for a 2022 armed carjacking in St. Louis County.

Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Eastern Missouri said Ki’Juan Calhoun, 28, and Reginald Hudson, 29, pleaded guilty in April to one count of carjacking and one count of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

Calhoun and Hudson admitted stealing a 2019 Ford Fusion at gunpoint from a woman on Jan. 12, 2022.

The victim was walking into her apartment complex on Marbella Drive in north St. Louis County when Calhoun and Hudson approached from the floor above her. She told investigators the two men came down the third-floor staircase to the second floor, both pointing guns at her.

One of the men demanded the victim’s car keys, purse, and phone.

Kansas City police found the victim’s car the next day, then tracked down Hudson at a nearby home. They found the victim’s purse and debit card, along with two handguns. Calhoun was arrested at a later date.

Hudson was sentenced on Monday to 125 months in federal prison. Calhoun was sentenced on July 9 to 144 months in federal prison. Both men were ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $24,438.
