WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. - The Webster Groves Police Department is investigating multiple reports of jewelry stolen from an apartment complex last week. At least one suspect has been arrested and charged.
According to a weekly incident report from Webster Groves police, there were four reports of stolen jewelry from a victim's apartment in the 700 block of South Laclede Station Road from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5.
Webster Groves police say a suspect was formally arrested and charged after one reported burglary and theft of jewelry on Sept. 30.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged Carolina Roberts, 30, of St. Louis County, with two felonies - first-degree burglary and stealing ($750 or more) - in connection with the Sept. 30 theft.
According to a Webster Groves Police Department probable cause statement, Roberts went inside an apartment and stole $1,200 in cash from a drawer near the front door, along with several boxes of coins.
The Webster Groves Police incident report also states, during the arrest, police also recovered "several pieces of jewelry determined to be connected to additional burglaries in the area."
The police incident report also noted a burglary reported from the apartment complex on Sept. 29, along with two additional reported of larceny on Oct. 2 and Oct. 5, both of which were reported days after Roberts' arrest.
It's unclear how much jewelry was stolen, when exactly each reported theft of jewelry occurred and whether the reported thefts involved more than one victim.
