Human remains in Columbia Bottom Conservation Area ID'd as missing man
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Human remains discovered earlier this week in Columbia Bottom Conservation Area have been confirmed as those a man missing for several weeks.
The remains have been positively identified as Steven Reed, 41, of St. Louis County, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.
Authorities issued an Endangered Person Advisory on Aug. 21 after Reed's reported disappearance.
Police have not yet determined Reed's cause of death. His remains were found around 11:45 a.m. Monday in the Columbia Bottom Conservation Area, located in the 800 block of Strodtman Road.
The St. Louis County Police says an active investigation is ongoing into Reed's death. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.
