Homicide investigation underway in Imperial Beach after man found dead
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A man is dead following an early-morning assault in Imperial Beach, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies from the Imperial Beach Sheriff's Substation responded to a reported disturbance around 1:25 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Seventh Street. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from traumatic injuries.
Deputies performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took over life-saving efforts, but the man was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim's identity, pending confirmation and notification of family members.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives are now investigating the incident, interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. At this time, officials say the motive and circumstances surrounding the assault remain unclear.
The sheriff's office believes this was an isolated incident and says there is no ongoing threat to the community.
