Homicide investigation underway in El Cajon after man found dead inside apartment

EL CAJON, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI)-- On Tuesday morning around 1:35 a.m., officers responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at an El Cajon apartment complex, and upon arriving, found a man suffering from traumatic injuries inside one of the apartments, according to a report from the San Diego County Sheriff.

According to the report, officers found the man inside the apartment located at 425 E. Bradley Ave., and began administering life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's name is pending release until his family has been notified.

The motivation and the circumstances of the death are still unclear, and Sheriff's Homicide detectives are interviewing potential witnesses and investigating the incident, according to the report.
