Heat Advisory takes effect on Labor Day in inland valleys

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A hot and dry Labor Day is in store for San Diego.

A Heat Advisory takes effect at 10 a.m. Monday and lasts until 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Escondido 95° (+6° above average)
El Cajon 95° (+6° above average)
Ramona 98° (+7° above average)

Relief from the heat will be along the San Diego County coastline, where a Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect until Monday evening. Waves are expected to be anywhere from 3 to 5 feet, with strong rip currents possible.

Monsoonal moisture will begin to build, with the best chance of thunderstorms impacting the mountains. There is a potential for precipitation in the inland valleys and deserts. It reports that monsoonal moisture will stick around through the end of the week.
