Getaway driver charged after cars stolen from St. Louis County repair shop

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A woman who allegedly served as a getaway driver to help others steal several cars from a south St. Louis County repair shop last year now faces felony charges.

On Thursday, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged Tiara Slinger, 30, of St. Louis County with four counts of stealing a motor vehicle, one count of first-degree tampering, and one count of first-degree property damage.

The charges stem from an overnight car theft scheme on March 19. 2024, at an auto repair shop in the 7500 block of South Lindbergh Boulevard.

According to a St. Louis County Police Department probable cause statement, a group of suspects arrived to the shop in a black Ford Edge. While at the shop, they located several keys and stole four cars.

The stolen cars included a Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Silverado, Dodger Ram 3500 and a Chevrolet Camaro. The suspects used the Ram 3500 to bust open a gate and fled from the auto shop.

Slinger was taken into custody on an undisclosed date. When interviewed by police, she admitted to driving suspects to the auto shop in a Ford Edge and serving as a "getaway driver and lookout," per the probable cause statement.

Investigators also determined the Ford Edge used in facilitating the crime was also stolen.

Slinger has a criminal setting hearing over her charges scheduled for November 12, according to online Missouri court records.

It's unclear whether other individuals have been arrested or charged in this case.
