General Staff: Ukraine's defence forces hit Russia's Syzran oil refinery and seaport in Krasnodar Krai

On the night of 4-5 December, Ukraine's defence forces struck infrastructure at the Temryuk seaport in Russia's Krasnodar Krai and facilities at the Syzran oil refinery in Russia's Samara Oblast.

Quote: "As part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor, units of Ukraine's defence forces struck infrastructure at the Temryuk seaport (Temryuk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia) on the night of 4-5 December.

This port handles general, liquid (including liquefied natural gas and chemical cargo), bulk and loose cargo. It is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army."

Details: The military reported confirmed impacts on the site, followed by a fire. The extent of the damage is being confirmed.

The defence forces also struck facilities at the Syzran oil refinery in Samara Oblast, which processes between 7 and 8.9 million tonnes of crude oil annually. The refinery is used to supply the armed forces of the Russian aggressor.

A UAV strike on the refinery site was recorded, followed by a fire. Early reports indicate that one of the refinery's units was hit.

In addition, the military confirmed the results of a recent strike on the Saratov refinery, including damage to the crude oil distillation unit.

As of early December 2025, the refinery has fully halted primary crude processing and is operating at less than 50% of its design capacity, with key units completely shut down.

"The defence forces continue to take measures to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian occupiers and compel the Russian Federation to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine," the General Staff said.

Background: Earlier, the operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai and Russian state-run media reported that drones attacked the port of Temryuk in Krasnodar Krai on the night of 4-5 December, causing damage and sparking a fire.
