Forever Rad custom bike shop tackles Indian Motorcycle challenge
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. - Forever Rad, a custom motorcycle shop in Hillsboro, has been gaining national attention and now has been selected to work on Indian Motorcycle's new FORGED program.
The project involves designing a custom version of the 2025 Chieftain PowerPlus, a task that challenged the team at Forever Rad to push their creative and technical limits. The shop, led by Kyle Bertsch, is known for its artistic approach to motorcycle building, focusing on Indian Motorcycles since 2020.
"When you experience something like riding a motorcycle for me, it's the one thing that can turn a bad day into a good day," said Kyle Bertsch, highlighting the passion that drives his work.
"The best thing is, whenever a customer gives me an idea of what they want built, then they give me that last 10 percent freedom, I try to outdo myself every time," said Jason Sprengel, a collaborator on the project.
The FORGED program by Indian Motorcycle selects three bike shops across the United States to create unique interpretations of their latest models. Forever Rad was tasked with designing a bike for the 2025 Chieftain PowerPlus, which was later given to Tyler Hubbard, lead singer of the multi-platinum duo Florida Georgia Line.
The team faced a significant challenge during the project, as they did not know who the bike was for during the first month and a half of the build. This added pressure to an already demanding creative process.
The final design featured a classy vintage feel, with a unique color scheme of charcoal powdery blue, champagne, and creamy white, creating a striking visual contrast. This innovative approach included coating the full engine and frame, a first for the shop.
Kyle Bertsch noted the positive reaction from Tyler Hubbard, stating, "The reaction is still pretty surreal, Tyler's really really happy with the bike."
