Ferguson Imo's employee stabs man asking for food: Police

FERGUSON, Mo. -- A 22-year-old Imo's employee has been charged after allegedly stabbing a man Tuesday night at the Ferguson restaurant after the victim asked for food.

According to court documents, Jakob McKeage told the victim there was no food and additionally told the victim to get a job.

Following the conversation, the victim went to the back of the restaurant near the dumpster, and McKeage allegedly followed after arming himself with a kitchen knife to take the trash out.

The victim again asked for food and a drink when McKeage lunged at the victim and stabbed him with the kitchen knife. When the victim ran, McKeage followed and stabbed him again in his lower torso.

As the victim continued to flee, a witness saw him and called police. The victim was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital and was treated for the wound and loss of blood.

After the stabbing, McKeage allegedly went back to the restaurant's kitchen, washed the knife, and returned it to the knife block before confessing to police.

McKeage has been charged with one count of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and tampering with physical evidence. A warrant was issued for his arrest with a $100,000 bond.
