CARLSBAD, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The Carlsbad Police Department identified the woman shot and killed outside of her apartment complex last week.

On Sept. 24, April Moore, 50, was shot and killed outside her apartment complex in Carlsbad.

As her closest family members remember her, they say she was the nicest person, funny and  a life-long 49ers fan.

“My mom, she was the biggest 49er fan,” said Moore's daughter, Melisa Williams.

But, Moore won’t finish rooting for her favorite team this season.

“I had my last night with her," Williams remembered. "It was a great night and we were just watching football and doing her nails and my brother was there and we were all just hanging out, and that’s just pretty much how every night went.”

That was the last time Williams watched football with her mom.

“We had no clue who this guy was," said Jamie Kinney, Moore's best friend. "A complete stranger ambushed her in her safe space.”

On Friday night, suspected killer Andre Matijasevic apparently shot Moore multiple times in the parking lot of this Carlsbad apartment complex, all while her two kids were upstairs in their apartment.

“We heard the shots, and it was extremely loud," Williams said. "It was literally right outside our apartment.”

Worried, she sent Moore several texts, telling her about the incident.

“I sent a couple texts to my mom, telling her not to come home. It’s not safe. We heard gunshots. Don’t come home,” she said.

At that point, she didn’t realize her mom was already home.

“I just saw a pair of shoes just hanging out,” Williams said.

Those shoes belonged to her mom.

“To do it where her kids can hear, see, and feel everything, it makes you feel like you can’t even leave your house anymore,” Kinney said.

Paramedics began CPR on Moore, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

“They moved her body so they could do CPR better, but when they stopped, I lost it because I knew my mom was gone," Williams said.

The shooter allegedly stole Moore’s car, driving it to Orange County where Newport Beach Police officers tracked the car.

“My mom did not care about that car. Take the car. You didn’t need to kill her," Williams said.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported officers shot and killed Matijasevic after he began shooting at the officers.

“He chose that for himself," Kinney said. "She didn’t choose this.”

Moore and Williams were planning to go see the 49ers play against the Atlanta Falcons on Oct.19.

It would have been their first home game together.

“We have to go and we honor her,” Williams said.

Clearly, the fandom didn’t end with Moore.

“I’m going to try my best to have a good time because she’ll be there with me, watching over me, cheering them on," Williams said.

Moore’s family started a GoFundMe, raising more than $30,000 so far to support her kids.
