Ex-teacher charged with child porn possession
WARREN COUNTY, Mo. - A former fifth-grade teacher at Ross Elementary is being accused of possessing child pornography.
Superintendent Melissa Schneider made the announcement Thursday to parents, saying Jed Finley, of Wright City, Missouri, is no longer employed by the Parkway School District.
According to the probable cause statement, the St. Louis County Police Department executed a search warrant at Finley’s house. Officials would end up finding over 20+ images containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Warren County sheriffs then arrested Finley and charged him with felony possession of child pornography.
According to the district, Finley is also being accused of uploading CSAM while on school property.
“We know this is upsetting news,” Schneider said. “Please be assured that the safety of your children is always our priority.”
Schneider went on to say that Parkway is cooperating with law enforcement surrounding the investigation. Finley also led the Star News Crew club at Ross Elementary during the 2024-2025 school year.
Students who were in Finley’s class were also contacted by the district, according to Schneider. The district urges those who may have information surrounding this case to contact the St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes at 314-615-5400.
Finley is currently being held without bond at the Warren County Jail.
