Eckert's Farm Corn Maze opens this weekend, honoring BackStoppers
MILLSTADT, Ill. - Eckert's Millstadt Farm opens its highly-popular annual corn maze to the public this weekend, to the public this weekend, kicking off a full season of fall festivities.
The corn maze will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 1 at the Eckert's Millstadt Farm, located at 2719 Eckert Orchard Lane. Access to the maze is included with general admission tickets.
This year's corn maze was designed in partnership with The BackStoppers, a St. Louis nonprofit that supports families of first responders killed an injured in the line of duty.
“Designing our corn maze with The BackStoppers’ logo and spirit was our way of honoring the extraordinary commitment of first responders and supporting an organization that strengthens their families when tragedy strikes,” said Chris Eckert, president of Eckert’s Farm.
To honor first responders, Eckert's Millstadt Farm will host a special First Responder Weekend with several events on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guest can meet BackStoppers representatives, connect with local first responders, and explore helicopter choppers and armored vehicles on-site.
That weekend, both on Sept. 13 and 14, all first responders with a valid ID will receive free admission to the farm.
Along with the corn maze, Eckert's is celebrating the start of AppleFest on Saturday. Every weekend in September, families can enjoy wagon rides, live music, festival foods, giant slides and pig races, and more.
