East St. Louis District 189 welcomes students back to school
ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. - Students in East St. Louis returned to school on Monday, marking the start of the academic year for East st. Louis District 189.
Lincoln Middle School is part of District 189, which is one of the first public school districts in the area to welcome students back to the classroom. This year, Lincoln Middle School has a new principal, Quanshanda Nicholson, who is focused on high expectations, building a positive school culture, and enhancing students' academic and social-emotional well-being.
District 189 serves nearly 5,000 students across ten campuses, with over 800 full-time staff supporting students from preschool through 12th grade.
