Duo accused of stealing $4,500 from Schnucks, Walgreens

WENTZVILLE, Mo. – A man and woman are accused of stealing more than $4,500 worth of merchandise from multiple Schnucks and Walgreens stores in St. Charles County earlier this month.

According to the Wentzville Police Department’s probable cause statement, Florin Ciuciu and Elisabeth Iamandita entered four Schnucks stores and three Walgreens stores on Aug. 4 between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Police say the pair hid merchandise and left without paying, with the total value reported at $4,527.83.

Police said surveillance footage showed Ciuciu assisting by selecting items, blocking views of Iamandita while she concealed goods, and leaving stores with her. Iamandita allegedly hid items under her clothing at each location.

The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged them both with with two counts of felony stealing — one tied to Schnucks and one to Walgreens — each for merchandise valued at more than $750, and police reports document Iamandita having stole more than $2,000 from Schnucks locations alone. They will both face a bond of $5,000.

Detectives believe both suspects are in the U.S. unlawfully.
