Drones attack petrochemical plant in Russia's Bashkortostan, explosions reported – photos, videos
Explosions have been heard and a unit at a petrochemical plant has collapsed in the Russian city of Sterlitamak (Bashkortostan) amid the threat of a drone attack.

Details: The local authorities reported that an explosion had occurred in the water treatment unit at Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant JSC, resulting in the partial collapse of the facility.
"The cause of the explosion is being established," the Sterlitamak administration said.
Meanwhile, Astra reported that residents of the city had heard explosions and that a drone attack warning had been issued.
Quote from Astra: "Camera footage indicates that at least two explosions occurred in the city – at 06:22 and 07:09 local time."
Updated: Later, Radiy Khabirov, acting head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, claimed that the industrial complex in Sterlitamak had been attacked by two drones.
He said that "the debris fell in the industrial area near an auxiliary unit," though not specifying the name of the business.
For reference: Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant JSC is a business located in the city of Sterlitamak which specialises in the production of rubber, butylated hydroxytoluene and aviation fuel. According to the plant's official website, it is part of the Russian chemical holding company Ruskhim.
