Details: Korolyov said drones attacked the city of Rzhev in Tver Oblast. He said several apartment buildings were damaged and 350 people were evacuated, but there were no casualties.

ASTRA analysed the site where the drone crashed and found that it had come down a few kilometres away from Russian defence industry facilities.

Elektromekhanika JSC is located roughly 1 km from the drone crash site, and the 55th Arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate is about 2 km away.

For reference: Elektromekhanika JSC is a company that produces specialised equipment for the aviation, aerospace and energy sectors. The plant manufactures vacuum-casting systems and electron-beam welding systems used in the production of aircraft engines and missile technology. The company cooperates with major Russian defence holding companies and works within the state defence procurement system.

The 55th Arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (military unit No. 86286) in Rzhev is a restricted facility run by Russia's Defence Ministry that is associated with the storage of weapons and military equipment. 55 Arsenal JSC, which repairs and services military equipment, including artillery reconnaissance systems, is based there. The site consists of an extensive closed area with storage facilities and repair infrastructure.

More details: In addition, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also reported a drone attack on the morning of 7 May. He claimed that Russian forces had downed more than 20 drones that had been heading towards the Russian capital.

Russia's Defence Ministry claimed on the morning of 7 May that it had downed and jammed over 300 Ukrainian drones.

Explosions were also reported in the town of Naro-Fominsk in Moscow Oblast.

Background: Explosions and a fire have been reported near the linear production and dispatch station in Perm, located more than 1,500 km from the border with Ukraine.
