Death investigation in March ruled murder-suicide
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced Friday details into their investigation behind two deaths earlier this year.
Police were called to the 4000 block of Laclede on the morning of March 28. Upon arrival, they found a man and a woman dead in an apartment.
Five months later, on Aug. 27, an autopsy from the Medical Examiner's Office released their report to the homicide division. According to the report, the man died of homicidal asphyxia and the woman died from a gunshot wound beneath her chin.
These fatal injuries were ruled a homicide and suicide, respectively, and the case was determined a murder-suicide.
The man was identified as 46-year-old Daniel Hults. The woman was identified as 73-year-old Kathleen Hults.
Both Daniel and Kathleen lived in the apartment where they were found.
No further information regarding the incident was released.
