Dance studio receives grant from the Prebys Foundation
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The Prebys Foundation announced it awarded 61 San Diego arts and culture organizations a combined $13.4 million to protect the local arts scene from federal and state funding cuts, local budget shortfalls, donor fatigue, and inflation.
One of the organizations receiving a grant is dance studio Culture Shock, which has been around for decades with in the Old Town area. They offer classes for all ages and all skill levels, as well as all different forms of dance from hip hop, to jazz and tap -- just to name a few.
"This is a time when we need the arts to spark joy and we can't do that without this support," said Culture Shock Executive Director, Sebastian Martinez.
For the studio, this will enable them to offer some free classes or discounted classes.
