MAPLEWOOD, Mo. - Officials responded to a gas main leak Friday morning in Maplewood, Missouri, blocking traffic and briefly halting some MetroLink Blue Line services.

A spokesperson from Spire tells FOX 2 that a contractor working for a different utility company was working in the area and struck a 12-inch gas main. Gas was shut off promptly and several hours were spent on repairs.
Businesses in the immediate area reported some disruptions, but there were no evacuations or injuries.
Blue line MetroLink services between the Clayton and Skinker MetroLink stations were halted around 9:30 a.m. as a precaution, but service has since resumed, according to STL Metro. The MetroLink Station Shuttles between those stations were briefly transporting passengers before the lines reopened.
