SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- San Diego Fire-Rescue crews quickly knocked down a garage fire that broke out Saturday at a home near the Skyline neighborhood, preventing it from causing more extensive damage.
The blaze was reported at a residence on 13o block of Sears Avenue, where firefighters arrived to find a “well-involved garage fire” that had already spread into the attic of the home, according to a department spokesperson.
Crews acted swiftly to contain the flames and prevent further spread into the structure. The fire was successfully extinguished, though the full extent of the damage has yet to be determined.
One individual was medically evaluated at the scene. It remains unclear whether that person sustained any serious injuries as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No official damage estimate has been released.
