Coast Guard intercepts vessel near Dana Point, interdicts several aliens
DANA POINT, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- According to the U.S. Coast Guard Southwest District, the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Sockeye interdicted seven aliens at about 6:30 p.m. Friday near Dana Point Harbor.
All seven aliens aboard the 24-foot cabin cruiser were adults who claimed to be of Mexican nationality, according to the U.S. Coast Guard Southwest District.
The U.S. Coast Guard Southwest District says the crew apprehended all seven aliens on the Sockeye, and the boat was towed to the Orange County Sheriff's Dock.
The aliens were then transferred to another DHS agency for further investigation, according to the report.
