Casualties reported as Russian forces attack Kharkiv, with several explosions heard

Russian forces attacked Kharkiv on the evening of 9 June, with explosions reported in different districts of the city.

Quote from Ihor Terekhov: "A hit by an enemy drone was recorded in the Slobidskyi district. We are gathering information on the aftermath of the attack."

Details: Terekhov later reported another hit in the city centre, in the Kyivskyi district. A four-storey building was damaged and a fire broke out.

Another explosion was recorded in the Osnovianskyi district.

Update: Syniehubov later added that based on early reports, four Russian UAV strikes were recorded in Kharkiv.

In the Kyivskyi district, an apartment block was damaged, and two women aged 86 and 69 suffered acute stress reactions.

In the Slobidskyi district, a drone hit an open area, causing dry grass to catch fire. The flames were contained.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a car was damaged by drone debris. No casualties were reported.

Update as of 21:23: Terekhov later reported another Shahed-type drone strike, which hit a residential building in the Kholodnohirskyi district.

Damage was caused to a nearby building and municipal utility networks. Two people have been injured.
