Brush fire burns in rural North County
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A brush fire broke out Tuesday in a remote area of De Luz, authorities said.
The blaze, dubbed the "Sandia Fire," occurred around 3:19 p.m. in the vicinity of the 40000 block of Sandia Creek Drive, according to Cal Fire San Diego.
As of 6:34 p.m., the fire burned 24 acres and is 10% contained, per fire officials. The forward rate of spread has been stopped.
The County of San Diego temporarily issued an evacuation warning, which means that all in the impacted area should prepare to evacuate, but that has since been lifted after improved containment of the fire.
