Blues Traveler, Jon Pardi to headline Missouri State Fair

SEDALIA, Mo. – The 2025 Missouri State Fair begins Thursday, with a full slate of activities, contests, and performances.

Three years before an international crowd gathered in St. Louis for the 1904 World’s Fair, fairgoers traveled to Sedalia for the first Missouri State Fair.

Since its inception in 1901, the fair has brought together people from all corners of Missouri to honor Missouri agriculture and youth. The fair also serves up a day (sometimes more) of family fun, including a large selection of carnival rides and games as well as every fair food you could think of. Then there are the big-name artists playing on the state fair grandstand.

“Once you come in … those gates, we've got a ton of free entertainment,” said Jason Moore, the Missouri State Fair Director.

He said there’s a large variety of activities and events this year, as well as attractions like the world’s largest rubber duck. All in an effort, he said, to offer up fun-filled activities that everyone in the family can enjoy.

“That's your goal when you have a fair,” Moore said. “You want to bring something for everybody.”

Regular, single-day admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, $4 for youth; there is no cost for children 5 and younger.
