Bicyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Barrio Logan collsion
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- An elderly bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday in the Barrio Logan area, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred around 3:49 p.m. near Alamitos Avenue and Main Street.
Police say an 86-year-old man was riding his bicycle northbound on Alamitos Avenue when he crossed into the westbound lanes of Main Street. As he entered the number right lane, he was hit by a 39-year-old man driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on Main Street.
The cyclist sustained multiple serious injuries, including a fractured scapula, fractured ankle, fractured foot, and a blood clot around the brain, police said. He was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition.
