Bellerive Country Club set to host 2026 BMW Championship

TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. - Bellerive Country Club will host one of professional golf's premier playoff events, the PGA Tour's BMW Championship, next summer.

The PGA Tour's BMW Championship is now scheduled from Aug. 17-23, 2026, at Bellerive Country Club, according to a PGA Tour schedule announcement.

Bellerive is preparing to host its second BMW Championship event ever and its first since 2008.

As the penultimate event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs, the BMW Championship is steeped in history. First played in 1899 as the Western Open, it is the third-oldest tournament on the PGA Tour schedule, behind only the British Open and the U.S. Open.

The field will feature the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings, advancing from the FedEx St. Jude Championship (Aug. 10-16, 2026) at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.

The top 30 players at Bellerive will then advance to the TOUR Championship (Aug. 24-30, 2026) at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, where the FedExCup Playoffs champion will be decided.

Bellerive Country Club, founded in 1897 in north St. Louis, relocated to its current Town and Country site in 1960. Designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr., the course has undergone several renovations through the 21st century.

When the Bellerive last hosted the BMW Championship in 2008, Camilo Villegas captured his first PGA TOUR victory. The event has a history of drawing the world's best golfers, with past winners including Rory McIlroy, Zach Johnson, Justin Rose and Tiger Woods.

Bellerive also hosted the 2018 PGA Championship, during which Brooks Koepka held off Tiger Woods to win his third career major title.
