ALTON, Ill. – Fall is finally here. Temperatures are dropping and leaves are falling; the only other thing you need to start your autumn season is some good homemade chili.

The annual Alton Chili Cook-Off is coming to town, on Sunday, Oct. 19. The event is open to all local chili chefs to join in this fiery competition.

 Everyone is welcome to compete, it doesn’t matter if you are a world-renowned chef or an amateur with a passion for tasty chili.

Tickets will only be available at the door: $10.00 for adults & $5.00 for kids 12 & under. Your ticket will allow you a sample of chili from each team.

Judges will award $100 prizes to winners in four categories: Individual, Organization, Business and Restaurant. The team chosen as “People’s Choice” will receive the coveted silver ladle and bragging rights.
